Let's Talk Health
Let's Talk Health is a free, interactive two-hour training session designed for anyone who works or volunteers with Nottingham residents. The training helps participants develop the confidence and practical skills needed to have positive, supportive conversations about health and wellbeing. Using a simple approach of Ask, Acknowledge and Assist, participants learn how to recognise when someone may be ready for change, understand motivation and common barriers, use active listening and open questions, and help people identify their own solutions.
The session is practical and engaging, with opportunities to take part in discussions and activities, and also provides an overview of local services, including Thriving Nottingham and other community, voluntary and health support available across the city. No clinical background or previous health training is required, making it suitable for frontline staff, volunteers and anyone who regularly interacts with Nottingham residents. By the end of the session, participants will feel more confident starting healthy conversations, providing appropriate signposting, and supporting people to access the help they need. A certificate of attendance is provided on completion.
