Suicide Prevention

Residents with lived experience of suicidality or bereavement by suicide have created the Suicide Prevention Charter to outline what matters to them. The Charter sets out the key values and principles which should help shape local suicide prevention activity. We are asking organisations to uphold the values of the Suicide Prevention Charter through meaningful and tangible actions. This will help people affected by suicide to feel valued, supported, and hopeful.

In May 2026, Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council’s Suicide Prevention Steering Group launched a new campaign called Let's Break the Silence on Suicide. The campaign aims to encourage open conversations about suicide to remove the stigma and make it easier for anyone who is struggling to ask for help.

To pledge your organisations support and commitment to the Suicide Prevention Charter, please visit: Suicide prevention | Nottinghamshire County Council

Please support our campaign by following us on Facebook to share our posts and by displaying our posters (NottAlone) in workplaces and community spaces.
